The Pissy ETC is part of a national epidemic preparedness project carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the NGO ALIMA and the Burkina Faso Red Cross, and funded by the European Union. The design and construction of the ETC was carried out in 2015 by the Burkina Faso Red Cross with the support of the Luxembourg Red Cross. This mission, marking the end of the project, consists of providing technical support to the Burkina Faso Red Cross team during the completion and reception of the works. On-site training allowed Medical Centre staff to become familiar with the facilities. The layout of the ETC takes into account all the procedures, circuits and isolation measure necessary for the control and prevention of infections. The project also includes the supply of furniture and equipment, which are essential for the proper implementation of the procedures.
